From the mouth of Ryan, "Paige cute."
After the beach, we looked around inside the hotel and rode the elevator. We missed the bus to go back to the ferry(we were not walking again!) which Ryan was not happy about. He loves to ride on the bus. So we played up the Taxi and he was ok with that. :) Our driver was from Brasil so it was fun talking with him.
We got a 3:00 check out at the hotel so Ryan was able to take a nap after we'd gone to the beach. When he woke up we drove to the temple and looked around for a few minutes. I don't remember ever going to this temple, so that was fun for me too. Afterwards we drove to Balboa Park. Ryan played on the playground for a little bit and then we went to a few of the buildings. It really was so beautiful. I would love to go back there with just Chris and I sometime and look around. We stopped and looked at the birds for a while and Ryan was dying to have the guy put it on his arm like everyone else. But he said children can only have it on their head. At first he was not ok with that idea, but then he gave in a realized that was the only way he was going to "hold" it. They guy was so nice and told Ryan to put his arm out and while he held his hand he put the bird on his arm.
It was really close to 5:00 and we had gone in to the History Museum, mainly cause Ryan was dying to go "in" somewhere. We told him they were closed, but the worker said they were open for 10-15 more min and the last half hour is free. Sweet!
I did not tell him to fold his arms, but I absolutely love that he did.
One of the things that Chris really wanted to do was eat at a place that Man vs Food has gone to in San Diego. So after a few options and looking up reviews and prices we decided to go to Phil's BBQ. It's rated in the top 10 restaurants in the U.S. on Yelp as well. They're known for their ribs and onion rings. We got both and thought the onion rings were good, but the sauce on the ribs was too spicy for us. Chris said he'd give it 3 1/2 stars out of 5. The experience was fun though.
After dinner we got gas(hunted down a Costco just to find out that it didn't have a gas station!) and headed home. We got in around 11:00. We had a blast and can't wait to go to Disneyland(4 hr drive) sometime before we leave Vegas.
