I also made this amazing dish recently and we loved it! It was funny because I was trying to think of a side to go with it and suggested applesauce to Chris and said yeah, pork chops and applesauce! hehe
Italian Pork Chops
This recipe is for 12 pork chops, but I actually just bought a package of 5 or 6 about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. But you get what's called breakfast pork chops or some just say 'thin cut' pork chops. Adjust this recipe as needed for how many pork chops you make
1 egg
2 tbsp water
3/4 cup Italian style bread crumbs
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 tbsp butter
2 cans 10 oz Italian style diced tomatoes (if making smaller recipe I just used a 14 oz can)1 1/2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend
In 3 separate plates (deep and wide enough to dip a pork chop into) place the follow 3 things
Stir egg and water together Dredge pork chops in 1/3 cup flour
3/4 cup bread crumbs
Dip pork chop into egg mixture, then the flour and then coat with bread crumbs. Place on plate and finish all the pork chops at once.
Heat oil on medium high heat and cook pork chops 1 min per side
Place in a greased 9x13 dish(overlap chops if needed)
Wipe skilled clean and melt butter.
Add remaining 3 T flour and stir until smooth
Add tomatoes and bring to boil for 1-2 min. until thick.
Spoon sauce over chops and sprinkle cheese on top
Place in 375 degree oven for 10 min!
Fast, easy and YUMMY!!
